About Us
Big Axe Brewery Inc. was established in 2013 and is well-known for high-quality beer, carefully brewed to style with meticulous attention to detail.
We use various strains of yeast, specialty malts, and only the finest ingredients, combined with pure, untreated water from our very own well. The result is fresh, consistent brews we’re proud to share.
Our name comes from the iconic landmark, The World’s Largest Axe, just down the road on Nackawic’s scenic waterfront.
The brewery itself has a rustic, open-concept saloon-style vibe, located along the beautiful Saint John River—only 3 minutes off the Trans-Canada Highway. We’re also accessible by ATV, snowmobile, horseback, or even boat thanks to our private dock.
Our cheerful team offers personalized service in a cozy, welcoming space where customers often say, “What a great vibe!” and “This is a hidden gem!”

Our Taproom & Kitchen is now on fall hours.
Doors Open @5pm on Tuesday evenings, every week we host the York County Sledders Chase the Ace event! Additionally, we are open Friday 12pm - 9pm, Saturday 12pm- 9pm and Sunday 12pm - 6pm.
